Dear Holidaymaker,
If you're coming to the Knysna area on holiday, let me invite you to stay in a cottage on our farm.

Rushmere is a citrus and persimmon farm 3 km off the N2 highway between Knysna and Sedgefield, heart of the Garden Route, along the south coast of South Africa. We export our fruit but you can enjoy it on the farm during the picking season.
Visitors always remark on the birdsong by day and the stars at night. Birders will delight in seeing many species as a result of the richly varied habitats that surround us. The farm has frontage on Ruigtevlei ( a bird sanctuary), a little-known lake at the eastern end of Swartvlei, which in turn is open to the sea. Canoes are available at our picnic place at the lakeside.
Walk up the hill for exceptional views, relax next to the farmhouse pool or set off to enjoy what the Garden Route has to offer. Rushmere is well situated for the forests, fairways and the best beaches in the area.

We enjoy having guests. It gives us great pleasure to share the tranquility of our farm with you as well as direct you to the hidden attractions of the Garden Route that are known only to the locals!

Self-Catering Accommodation
We have two fully-equipped self-catering cottages. They are semi-detached, very private and each is set in its own garden with a beautiful view over pastures, forests and the Outeniqua mountains. We pride ourselves in making our guests as comfortable as possible and much thought and effort have gone into the furnishings, from characterful cottage pieces to microwaves and dishwashers. All linen is provided and there is plenty of braaiwood. Breakfast baskets and laundry can be arranged.

Marie's Cottage sleeps 4 in two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two singles. It consists of two bedrooms, bathroom (there is also an outside shower), a fully-fitted kitchen and open-plan dining and living room. The living room has french-doors onto a patio under pergola where you can cook up a storm on the open coals.

Clementine Cottage sleeps 6 in three bedrooms, one with a double bed and the others with two singles. It consists of three bedrooms, two bathrooms, fully-fitted kitchen and open-plan dining and living room. The living room has french-doors onto a patio and braai under a pergola.

B&B Accommodation
Pumula in the farmhouse garden, is a thatched rondavel, ideal for B&B for 2. En-suite bathroom and the famous shower-with-a-view. The kitchenette has a fridge and tea-making facilities and guests can enjoy braaing on the patio or watching birds from the deck. Available only in Summer.

Tariff
Our rates vary with the seasons and the number of guests. The rates are quoted per person per night sharing.

Marie's Cottage : From R225 to R650 pppns.

Clementine Cottage: From R225 to R800 pppns.

Pumula: R400 pppns including Bed & luscious farm Breakfast

We normally ask a 50% deposit to confirm a reservation with balance being payable on arrival.
